Vacation (Mode)

Hi everyone.

Sorry for the sporadic posting going on here on the blog for the past few weeks. I wish I could say it’s no longer going to be that way, but alas, it’s probably going to get even more sporadic.

If any of you has ever attended a South Asian wedding, or are of South Asian heritage, you’ll know how crazy it can get. Weddings in South Asian culture traditionally aren’t really planned by the bride or the groom, but by the families, and so everyone is involved, like the bride’s father and the groom’s mother and the bride’s sister-in-law and the groom’s aunt and everyone else you can think of. Like I said, everyone is involved and it’s CRAZY.

Given the fact that it’s my first cousin’s wedding, and the first wedding in our extended family out of all the cousins, I’ve been running around a lot, trying to help my aunt (the groom’s mom), and my cousin out as much as I can. It’s been a lot of fun, but also quite hectic.

A lot of things have fallen by the wayside, and it’s been hard trying to keep on top of things. So starting today, officially one week from till the wedding, I decided I’m going into Vacation Mode!

Unfortunately, I won’t actually be going anywhere exotic or special, but I feel like this is a good way to just turn my brain off and enjoy the festivities and craziness, instead of trying to keep up with blogging, writing, querying, dieting, getting ready for school in September, and other Important Things. I think this will save me (some of) the guilt of not keeping up with everything.

Hopefully after all this craziness is over, life will return to normal and I can get back into writing and everything else. 🙂

In terms of the blog, nothing should change too much. I’ll still be replying to comments and will still try and post reviews to books I loved, and recipes I made recently, at least this week. Next week…anything goes, I suppose.

Hope you’re all having a fabulous Monday so far! 🙂

Thanks for reading,

Ikhlas
