Welcome to my whimsical whims! Sometimes these whims are rather nonsensical and turn into random ramblings. Like now, for example.
I’m a twenty-something Muslim girl living in Canada, who still thinks she’s a teen. I’m also a self-proclaimed bibliophile, who wishes she was actually British. When I’m not reading through piles of books by my bed or practising my British accent, I like to think I can write manuscripts that will one day get published and become novels.
I have a massive, unquenchable sweet tooth, and this unfortunate ailment demands me to bake something sweet and yummy every week. When my stomach actually requires me to eat something other than icing sugar, sprinkles, or frosting, I also like to cook, as long as it’s not Pakistani food, since it seems harder to me than climbing Mt. Everest with a backpack full of rocks.
Originally, this blog was started as an assignment for one of my Creative Book Publishing classes last year, as I wanted an outlet to write reviews for all the amazing books I was discovering. Since then, it has evolved into a blog featuring posts on writing, books, recipes, fashion, being Muslim, crafts, DIY projects, and other whimsical, or rather nonsensical, things.
Some things I love: the smell of books, the colour pink, shopping, cute notebooks, travelling, sugar (and lots of it), making lists, Young Adult novels, Taylor Swift, coloured pens, school, romantic comedies, scrapbooking, making homemade cards, everything girly, taking amateur photos, Korean dramas, fairy tales, and the smell of freshly mowed grass.
Some things I hate: people who are slow, the smell of cauliflower, exercise, forgetting things, indecisiveness, waiting for nail polish to try, the line ups for food at South Asian weddings, overdue library books, having my name mispronounced, being told I’m a perfectionist, people who are pretentious, school, getting anything below 100%, and the feeling of uncertainty.
Some of my favourite books include: Harry Potter (naturally), Pride and Prejudice, Emma, The Hunger Games, Confessions of a Shopaholic, The Taker, Twelfth Night, and pretty much anything by Sarah Dessen.
Some of my favourite movies include: Harry Potter (again, naturally), Pride and Prejudice (the one with Keira Knightley), Anastasia (the cartoon one), The Dark Knight, Inception, and The Devil Wears Prada.
