Endings and Beginning

So I’m sitting here writing this one day before my last day in teacher’s college.

When I sat down in my teacher education classroom, back in September, I flipped through the course calendar and tried to count how many months, weeks, and days there were until April. It seemed like too many.

Especially when my life was devoured by countless assignments, reflections, lesson plans, and quizzes. As the year wore on at an infuriatingly slow pace, it felt like April would never come. That this week, this glorious last week before a long weekend, in the middle of April wouldn’t come. But it’s finally here.

Unlike the past few months, these last few weeks have passed with a blazing fury. I’ve been so busy finishing up the last few assignments that I didn’t even realise the end was so near. And I find that I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to it all yet.

Despite the insanity of this school year, I’ve made some amazing friends, friends that I hope to keep for life. Without them, I don’t know how I would’ve made it through the year! 🙂

As someone who loves to look forward all the time, I sometimes forget to enjoy the present. But as I approach my last day at teacher’s college and my last day with my friends, I plan on enjoying the day as it comes. Because it won’t come again.

There’s no point worrying about the future just yet, not when there’s today to enjoy. In the words of my favourite half-giant, “What’s comin’ will come and we’ll meet it when it does.” (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire)

Thanks for reading,

Ikhlas
