Look out for Dark Inside

Posted on 24 July, 20118 November, 2012 by Ikhlas

Dark InsideThe other day, I had the immense pleasure of getting and reading the Advance Reading Copy (ARC) of Dark Inside, the debut YA dystopian novel by Jeyn Roberts.

Told through alternating points of view of 4 teens, Dark Inside tells the story of the earth revolting against humanity and the catastrophic consequences that result from this.

Dark Inside is a haunting depiction of humanity’s potential, for both good and evil. The story explodes right on the first page and keeps you within its grips, as the teens struggle to survive, till the very last page.

I absolutely loved it. It will probably get compared to Hunger Games, which every YA dystopian novel does these days, but its very different. The Canadian landscape is one thing that differentiates it, as well the voices of the 4 main characters, who prove that good and evil lie in all of us. I found myself thoroughly creeped out a few times, and finished the book 2 days after I started, tearing through it try to get to the end.

Even though its not out for awhile (November 2011), keep your eyes open for this one!

That’s all there is; there isn’t any more.

Thanks for reading,

Ikhlas

Nice! This book sounds really promising! I love the fact that it deals with the Canadian landscape because that rarely happens in the book world….but when it does I usually end up falling in love with the book! Is the author Canadian??

Yes the author is Canadian! It takes place on the West coast, so its in Vancouver and Seattle and a couple of other places.

But yeah, you should definitely check it out when it comes out 🙂
