Change Is Good…?

If you know one thing about me, it’s that I’m a creature of consistency. Always have been since I was a kid. One little thing in my world goes awry and it feels like the whole universe has shaken (for me).

I’ve been eating the same ice cream flavour since I first discovered it (chocolate chip cookie dough, thanks very much). I sit in the same place at the dinner table every night. I fix my bed and arrange the throw pillows exactly the same way every morning. I tie my hijab the same way every single day.

With that being said, sometimes I like to change things up. Like my blog design, for instance.

I’ve been contemplating redesigning my blog for quite some time now. I’ve had the same design since I first started it 2 years ago, and believe it or not, I’ve grown sick of it.

But every time I went to browse the pre-installed themes on WordPress, I’d realise that the theme I had installed already was the best, and nothing else compared. Since none of the other themes has the layout I wanted, which happened to be the exact same one as the one I currently had, I kept putting it off.

So after much deliberation, I finally picked the theme that I currently had and went on my merry way to update the settings, widgets, and header.

It’s a bit different, actually, make that a lot different. The menu is on the bottom of the screen, instead of the top. And there is no sidebar on the right or left for my beloved widgets, instead they’re on the bottom.

After looking at the same design for 2 years, I have to say it’s refreshing to visit my website now and see something different. As I use it more, I’ll see if I like it, since I have a hard time adjusting when things change.

Nothing else on the site has changed, except for the look. The recipes and reviews are still in the exact same place, and so is the writing and photography, since obviously I can’t deal with too much change at once. ^_^
